Albert Roig

Albert Roig (Tortosa, 1959) is a poet, essayist, translator and teacher at the Theatre Institute in Barcelona, who has garnered many awards for his poetry and prose. He has translated authors such as W.B. Yeats, the Brazilian poet Manoel de Barros and the Turkish poet Bejan Matur. The poetry of Albert Roig is characterised by a personal blend of referents and interests as diverse as the European avant-gardes, the Classic Baroque or Medieval Catalan.
